Program Curriculum

At Hamilton, students will engage with a wide range of artistic practices, including drawing, painting, sculpture, fabric arts, mixed media, digital art, and art history. They will explore various styles, artists, and art movements, from the classics to contemporary, broadening their visual art understanding and learning the language of art. The development of this program and each lesson is ongoing, with careful integration of visual art into our K-8 literacy curriculum, where students connect art with literature. Our aim is to make complex concepts accessible to all students, reinforcing the themes and ideas they encounter in their readings through hands-on art exploration and discussion. ArtLab’s mission is to leverage the creative strengths of our community, provide rich and dynamic artistic experiences for our students, and celebrate their creative achievements.

CPS All City Visual Arts Exhibition

In addition, if you're a student in Kindergarten through 8th grade and have a passion for creating art, the ACVA Exhibition is a fantastic opportunity to showcase your individual work. Open to all K-8 students, the exhibition invites you to submit your self-initiated artwork and share your creative talent with the wider community. Stay tuned for more information on how the ArtLab can support your submissions, including the possibility of hosting Art Clinics to assist with your projects. More information coming soon!
